Mer information på engelska:
Pysanka is a Ukrainian variety of Easter eggs; an egg decorated with traditional symbols written using wax and dyes. Among the various peoples of the world, the egg is associated with the beginning of life, the germ of the universe. Ukrainians saw great sense in this. In ancient times, every Ukrainian woman knew how to make Easter eggs. Easter eggs from all over Ukraine are distinguished by a variety of patterns and colors. The painting from the Hutsul region is considered the most difficult. In this region, the patterns are very detailed and the lines are very thin. On the contrary, in Kyiv Region, Ternopil Region, and Transcarpathia, the drawing is large and occupies most of the Easter egg space. It takes about 1-2 hours to create an Easter egg if you are a professional and 3-4 hours if you have never painted Easter eggs. In Ukraine, they say: "The world exists as long as the Easter egg lives."We invite you to visit a workshop on Ukrainian traditional piesan painting, which will be introduced by Yuliia Stepaniuk, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
